our first greek wedding.  and it was FABULOUS!!!   katie and taylor were SO much fun!  and they have such great families and friends.  and dancing.  lots of dancing…..

i have to pause real quick to explain the next couple pictures…  i was posing the two of them while their families watched behind me and taylor placed his hand on katies belly and rubbed it and said something about a baby (TOTALLY NOT TRUE) (about there being a baby in there) and katie’s reaction was HILARIOUS!  in the first picture she is telling her family “it’s not true!!  don’t listen to him!!” and then in the second one taylor’s getting quite the laugh about it and katie is saying “WHY would you say that??!”.  there no baby as of right now, rest assured, but this was pretty entertaining to watch/photograph!  love you katie!  and love the immediate emotional reaction! and how you look like you are going to smack him with your bouquet! classic!!  gotta love a groom with a sense of humor!  ha!!

and let the greek dancing begin!!  i’m tellin ya… those greeks must have some Killer calf muscles because this circle dancing stuff looks like a calf workout gone wild!!

it was an awesome wedding.  period.  no doubt.

caitlin and jacob… married… june 16. 2012…. duke chapel and croaisdale country club….  Our couples tend to come from all walks of life and in as many different flavors (of personality) that you could think of.  We seem to be on a bit of a drug induced couple binge as of late, as we have had three or four couples that are all going to be Pharmacists of some type or another in their professional lives.  Caitlin and Jacob are our most recent case in point.  Caitlin is sweet, beautiful, fun, full of smiles and a little bitty thing.  Jacob is brilliant, easy going, kind, and a big guy that loves to hold his bride.  Their wedding day was a little different in that it was divided up into four different parts.  First of course was Jamie and I splitting up to shoot them both at their respective locations while they prepare and get dressed for the day.  Second stop was at their reception hall (Croasdaile Country Club), we stopped here just for their first look   Jamie and I really do love first looks, and as always it was a really special time for them.  What a difference it makes in the day in both how you feel and on the schedule as well.  Caitlin’s dad had a bit of a surprise for her for the ride after their first look, he had an Excalibur Roadster waiting to take him and his daughter over to Duke University.  With their first look done and both of them glowing, we set off for their wedding ceremony.  Caitlin’s mom is on faculty at Duke University and so it was an easy decision for Caitlin to want to have their ceremony in the Duke Chapel.  The campus at Duke is nothing short of amazing.  The architecture, attention to details and grandeur of it all is really breath taking.  The ceremony was elegant, beautiful and the perfect place for them to be married.  Now officially married and ready to party off we set to the fourth and final destination, Croasdaile Country Club.  There, they got a Huge surprise!!  Caitlin and Jacob have a dog appropriately named after an antibiotic, Moxie, and Caitlin’s mom sewed her a wedding dress to match the bridesmaid’s dresses!!  It was SO cute!!  Caitlin and Jacob LOVED that!!   Their reception was a lot of fun and Jamie and I feel very fortunate to have been able to be a part of Caitlin and Jacobs wedding day.   Thank you guys for letting us share in your memories and for letting us get the pictures and images to commemorate your day.  Best Wishes to you and of CONGRATULATIONS !

ginger and brian…. married… june 9. 2012…. wilson. nc……  two weekends ago ginger and brian were married.  and i feel like we seem to love ALL our clients, but i’m tellin ya, we have some AWESOME clients, and yes we pretty much love them all, these two included!!  i ADORE how these two love each other!  i mean, what else can you say when they each got the same wedding card for each other…. thats two minds working the same right there!  i need to apologize on the lengthiness of this post, but i just couldn’t stop picking favorites!!  their day was perfect… : )

 i love that shot (above)… so sweet, and loving…. then brian tripped on her dress… and this happened:  (which i LOVE because its just them and it makes me laugh) (brian, you are awesome by the way)

but they Didn’t fall, and they regained their composure and we continued on…. and by the way, its LAUGHTER that i think gets us thru the tough spots… and if you can Laugh, you will be good.  these two will be Great!  : )

 

 ginger and brian… your weekend was the BEST!  i can’t even think about how it could have been any better!  we are SO thrilled we got to share this ordeal… I MEAN WEDDING  (hahaha) with you!  much love, jamie and richie

kacia and andrew…. married… may 27. 2012… highgrove, raleigh….  i swear i don’t know how we get such Amazing clients, but here’s ANOTHER couple we just absolutely LOVE!!!  kacia and andy were married this past and i had quite a few firsts with them…. one first was that this was our first wedding at highgrove!  its a really neat venue south of raleigh and i Loved the ceremony area and the new indoor reception room!  and the FOOD…. WOW!!!  really was some of the best wedding food we’ve had!!  another first was that i got to give advice about the bridesmaid dresses and what the guys wore!  its super humbling to have someone ask you your opinion, its WAY HUMBLING for them to actually take your advice!  it was really sweet and i was super flattered!  this was also the first time a groom sang to his new wife!  he redid the lyrics to lee bryce’s song “a woman like you” and he did an AWESOME job!!!!  sooooo sweet andy!  you got major groom points for that!  another first was that at the reception i heard the “north car-o-lina” song (actually called “raise up” by petey pablo) and MAN is it a catchy song!!!  i haven’t stopped singing it since then!  now our two year old runs around the house rapping the name of our state!  it was during this song that kacia says came the quote of the night from me… “kacia… your husband is stripping…”  lol!   i could go on and on about this wedding and how much i loved it and how in love andy and kacia are and how cool it was of mother nature to move those massive storm clouds right around fuquay varina so that their outdoor ceremony could take place as planned!  what kacia and andy have is so special, and so intimate, and i am so happy for them that they reconnected after their time apart and that andy knew he better not let that girl go!  now for the pictures they’ve waited so patiently to see the last five days…..  we love you kacia and andy!  and from now on, any time i hear “north carolina” i will go right to your reception in my mind!  xxoo, jamie and richie

ann and taylor…. married… may 19. 2012…. burlington, nc….  oh my gosh where do i even start with these two?!?  i feel like we have known this couple for Years, even though its been less than a year!  we pretty much have done every type session with them, from the engagement session, to a bridal and a boudoir session (best wedding gift EVER!), all their activities on their wedding eve, then their whole wedding day!  AND we got to be their “get-away transportation” after the wedding!!  ann and taylor are SO perfect for each other, and how they interact together makes it Very evident how much love they share!  one thing you will notice below is that ann is very animated…. and i ADORE animated people!  their happiness is SO contageous!!!  i think in more than half the pics of ann her mouth is Wide Open in total glee!  i LOVE that!!!

i can’t say enough how honored richie and i are to have gotten to share this time in their lives with ann and taylor and their families and friends!  here are some of my favorite images from one of our favorite couples….  <3

carrie and webb… married…. april 28. 2012…. first baptist church of elon and the hayloft….  after five years of dating and then a year and a half  being engaged, carrie and webb are now a happily married couple!!  : )  these two are nothing but grins when they are together, and you just can’t help but smile when you are with them!  their wedding day was a little chilly but Rain Free (we were a little nervous about the weather forecast for the day) but it turned out to be “pleasantly cool and perfect!”  they held their reception at the hayloft complete with cornhole and barbeque and plenty of eric church blasting on the speakers…. thats what i call an Awesome reception!!  carrie and webb, you guys have a Fabulous future together!  and no worries… richie and i will be by time to time to see you guys and see whats in your mom’s antique store!!  we love you both… here are some of our favorite parts of your day saturday…..  <3

bethany and david… married… april 21… rand-bryan house….  bethany and david were married this past saturday at the rand-bryan house just south of raleigh.  we had a couple last year who had their reception here and i fell in love with it all over again this saturday… this is one of our most favorite venues around raleigh!  bethany did a FABULOUS job with every single little detail from the tables where each one was a little different, to the mason jars (given as wedding favors) with the hand stamped labels on them and the cool straws she got on etsy, to all the antique birds and signs and “M”s all around!  you could tell a lot of sweat and work and love went into making everything Beautiful!  the details at their wedding were some of the best we’ve seen!  and any DIY bride is one after my own heart!!   we adored them at their engagement session, and they were equally as awesome on their wedding day!   bethany and david, have a Wonderful time in california!!!  (i am super envious!)  congrats on becoming mr & mrs!!  your day was completely perfect!!
