…books and cds and prints GALORE over here at the jagg house! i haven’t really kept track of how many jagg sessions we have done in the last couple months, but its been a Lot. and with each one comes a coffeetable book, a low-res cd of the images in the book, and five 5×7 prints. and as quickly as they come in, i turn around and ship em out! so i’ve kinda slacked in the “taking pictures of product” category. so as my last batch came in, zackary and i made sure they got photographed! : )

with christmas in full swing i wanted to do a post about crops and printing to give you a visual about how different crops affect an image. the image you see in your proofing gallery is the same ratio aspect as a 4×6. so when printing a 4×6 the image will look Exactly like you see it in your proofing gallery. printing a 5×7 will chop off a little on the ends, and an 8×10 will do a mega cut off of quite a bit of the image. so if you love an image Exactly how you see it in your proofing gallery, you won’t be able to print it as an 8×10 without losing some love. same with a 16×20 (doing the math, doubling the 8 is 16, and doubling the 10 is 20, so the cropping/chopping will be the same). for canvases, the most popular size we print is 16×20, especially for bridal portraits. so keep in mind how much of your image will be cropped out of the final image. all that said, if you order an image in a size that i feel like will not work with a particular crop i will immediately let you know! but for those of you who are ordering from your discs and not from me, i just want you to be aware about said events. also, a totally separate, but totally related, topic is WHERE you print your images! please in the haste of the season do NOT just go “anywhere” to have your pictures printed! soon i hope to post some examples of how different companies prints look. i’m telling ya… the BEST consumer level online print company IN OUR OPINION is mpix. they are cheap and Fast and you will love their quality! alright… back on track jamie, back on track…. here are some guides to show you different croppings and then i pulled in one of my fav images of erin and brad to show you an example of the same picture printed in different sizes!

Jamie and I shoot all different types of people from all different walks of life. Some sessions personally interest me more than others. High School Senior sessions are a lot of fun and are something that I always look forward to. Caleb is a multi talented young man, in that he can play guitar, rides long board and promotes “Local” a hometown line of skater gear!! Not to mention he is down to earth cool and great to hang out with. Caleb it was a real treat to hang with you the other day.

this is an INSANE time of year for all photographers, and its no different over here at the staggs house! and while it’d be easy for me to continue with working 14 and 16 hour days, when the kids are all here we take time to just be a regular family. yes, we are no “typical family” by any stretch of the meaning, but we are OUR FAMILY. in our house typically the girls are in their room or in the kitchen and theres never a shortage of constant laughter! and 24 hours a day, those girls are no more than an arms length away from each other…. and the boys, they are on the computer. or on the playstation. or on the ipad. or on our iphones. every minute pretty much. they are perfect together, perfect for each other, and perfectly happy just being boys. jaden gets kinda split between the girls and the boys, spending some time annoying the boys, and then some time trying to be a big girl with brittany and maegan. and then theres zack, who they ALL fight over, and who they All love. this thanksgiving, we got to have my sister and her husband and their two kids here!! so it was a house full, but we loved every minute of it!! its lots of noise. lots of food. lots of laughter. lots of chaos. but we wouldn’t trade any of it. we are so blessed to have this family…. and we never take it for granted. no matter if its only a few days, you’d be surprised how much we can pack into our time!! here are some pictures of our time this thanksgiving break…

CHRISTMAS TREE TIME!!!! not enough time to go cut a tree... so we supported our local tree peeps instead!

yes, brenn's sticker is coming off... think its time for a new set for us this christmas! britt and josh did those for us two years ago! super sweet!!

our mantle! yes i have to finish my numbers on the stockings! its on "the list"! along with some new paint and some CURTAINS i hope!!

and thats about all we could pack in in two days! whew!! and can you believe it??? a whole post without any pictures of richie and i kissing?!! ok… i can’t have that happening…. so here are a few iphone pics!

and thats a wrap!! xxxoxox, JaR and the Whole Gang!! : )
