when kelly and kevin told us they wanted to not only do a first look, but one two weeks before their wedding we got SOOOO excited!!!  they are both textile people so they knew from looking at shots we’ve posted that they wanted to do it at the cotton room… so now the excitement went from WAY a lot to WAY WAY WAY a lot!!!!   then add in a CUSTOM made suit and a dress to die for, and you have the ingredients for a great shoot!  when we first met kelly and kevin at the bridal event at macgregor they seemed pretty quiet and reserved.  then we did their engagement session at smith mountain lake and they started to open up a little bit… then at this session… WOW.. their personalities really came out!  its so cute, they have like this secret language that i can’t seem to hear most of the time, yet they find total peace with being together.  we had a Blast at this session with them, and to see their anxiety just melt away as the session rolled made me so happy.  so its with Great pleasure that i post this first look session….  LOVE this session.  LOVE these two.  pictures from their wedding last weekend to come soon!  <3

one thing i love about richie is his drive to always know more, learn more, experiment more… to learn WHY something is, not just be content that it is (i am queen of contentment).  and lately, its film.  so i got my old film camera i actually started my business with and started carrying it with me and shooting it every so often.  here are some of the images from my last roll…. and yes, i still look at the back of the camera every time i take a shot….  (all shots developed by richie)

morgan and james…. married…. yorktown, va….  labor day weekend was BUSY for us!  a lotta wedding love, and alotta traveling… but so worth it for the two couples we shot that weekend!  this is morgan and james.  yes their faces are used on just about all our marketing material.  if you’ve had a meeting with us, they are our sample engagement book!  i feel like we’ve known them forever and let me tell you… they are COOL PEEPS!  sooooo much fun!!  and EASY to photograph!  they are so crazy about each other, and it just radiates from both of them!   it was so sweet… the morning after their wedding richie and i were leaving to drive to richmond Early and there those two newleyweds were, walking together along the beach….  <3  morgan and james, we think you TOTALLY ROCK, but you know that!  and sometime soon you must join us for dinner at that amazing little restaurant on the waterfront!  i will def need a dose of some morgan and james every so often!!!
