this was a field we passed on the way to the ceremony.  i instantly Knew we HAD to shoot here.  hmmm… how can i convince them to let us shoot them here??  its always CraZy busy after the ceremony and everyone just wants to get to the reception so i knew i had my work cut out for me.  ceremony comes.  the storm the night before knocked the air conditioning out, so no air in the church.  and its june.  and the high that day was 93 degrees.  so we get thru the ceremony ok, but its HOT.  like for Real hot.  and amy and ryan just want OUT of there.  so we get them into the back of our car and turn on the air full blast.  “we GOTTA cool them off or theres no way they are going to want to stand out in a field in the sun!”, i thought to myself.  or was that outloud?  i may have muttered that to richie as i looked to him to completely support my wheat field excursion, and he did, as always…  : )   somehow a six pack of miller lite ended up in the car, and may Possibly have been used as a bribe, but if it was i won’t ever admit to it….  nope, no way.   but cooled off and refreshed, however it happened, we get to “the field”.  and i get out to do a quick survey of the spot (also called stomp-around-to-scare-any-potential-snakes-away-time), and i quicky notice, “wholly crap!  this wheat is like five feet tall!!!”  but i act like everything is totally cool and we flatten out a spot and make it as inviting as possible and reassure amy and ryan that this is totally cool and normal and that we will be in and out of there fast as lightning (no pun intended since it was ironically occurring in the background).  this is where my heart gets all happy….. because amy and ryan trust us 110% and give us themselves completely….  and they never questioned us.  and they stood there looking absolutely stunning.  and they never complained.  just said “we love you guys”.  <3   so heres a sneak peek for them.  amy and ryan, every time i see a miller light i’ll think of you… and this shot…..

and a huge thank you must go out to my husband, who gave up his camera time to hold me up on his shoulders so i could get this shot (and about 48 more).  i love him.  i swear i do.

kelly and kevin…. engaged… smith mountain lake, virginia.  getting up at 6:15am yesterday to leave at 7am to drive almost three hours to smith mountain lake in virginia after shooting a wedding all day saturday… TOTALLY worth it!  when we heard these two had a lake house at SML i was SOLD!  yup, engagement session up there…. check!  this is the first part of their session…..  the second part, you  know it… ON DA BOAT!  but for now, the land pics. 

kelly and kevin, we had a Great time with you and your parents!!  wish we could have stayed longer, but i’m happy for the little bit of boat happiness we got!  you guys are so cute together!  can’t wait for your wedding on 9.10.11!  xxoo, jamie and richie

constance and ryne…. engaged… nc state arboretum and nc state campus.  have to say, this is my first time EVER stepping on wolfpack territory… and yes, they did that crazy hand stuff…  haha!  constance and ryne, we had a Great time with you guys friday even though it was like 147 degrees outside!  can’t wait for your october wedding!!!

a couple weeks ago richie and i got to shoot a bridal session at the nc museum of art in raleigh… and i couldn’t Believe we hadn’t been there before!!!  what a Gorgeous place and so many different kinds of areas to shoot at!  while we can’t post pics that would give away her dress to ryan (who has been trying to crack the code on lauren’s bridal gallery!  haha!!), she was ok with me posting these couple!  lauren, we can’t Wait for your wedding in september!!  and we had a great time with you at this session!  just sorry we couldn’t have experienced all the drama trying to get your dress bag back!  EEK!  oh well… it was worth it!  xxox
