yesterday, with the 68 degree spring weather tease, richie and i and zack took a walk in the woods….  not just ANY woods, however, but the same woods we went on our first “date” together.  : )

zack’s new thing is carrying anything “stick-like” and saying “shew” like he’s shooting a gun.  he gets this thanks to his brothers, brenn and josh, as they shoot their nerf guns at each other constantly.  so in the WOODS there were all Kinds of “stick-guns” and he loved picking them up and “shewing” them over and over.  this was like “stick-gun heaven”!!   we love this little guy SO much!!  he’s our one constant.. he’s always with us… no matter…..   <3

(and by the way….. the nose injury is from going on a walk the other day and face-planting on the pavement.  he’s ok tho!)

but THIS is one of my most favorite shots of the two of them….  L O V E it….  richie, you are one of the most amazing people i know and i am SO proud to call you my husband.  and josh said it best, “zack’s the luckiest one of all”….  <3

i can’t believe that today zack is EIGHTEEN months old!!!!  gracious time Flies!!  we haven’t been very good in the last few months with getting pics of him.  maybe because i tend to shoot mostly outside and its been Freezing.  or maybe because we’ve been so busy with christmas.  or maybe because he’s the fourth kido.  for whatever reason, one of our goals this year is to shoot the kids more.  ALL the kids.  but since today is zack’s 18 month birthday, he gets the camera today!  and today, he’s in the tub!  : )

we love you little Z!!  can’t believe you are getting to be our Big Boy!!!   xxx0x0, ma and da

richie and i shot christine’s bridals last month at the duke campus.  i have to say, i’ve lived within two hours of duke my whole life (well my whole life minus the first two years of it) and i never had been to duke university’s campus.  oh my………  i had NO idea anything it was THAT gorgeous!!!!!  it feels like you are somewhere in europe!  i also got to see for the first time, the duke chapel.  honestly, when i heard “duke chapel” in the past i envisioned a tiny, cute little building.  um… couldn’t be MORE WRONG!  my jaw Dropped seeing it!!!  ofcourse i HAD to go inside and see it!  didn’t take but about 13 seconds for someone to approach us and adamantly tell us we could NOT take any pics inside of the chapel for any reason.  i guess the fact that we were both holding camera’s was a huge red flag for them, but there was No way i was going to let my nikon shutter break the complete silence as people in pews prayed.  i just wanted to take a minute and soak in the beauty of that place….. i hope to get to go back one day and have more time to see more of it!  and, yes, i am Very jealous of any photogs who get to photograph a wedding there!!  whoa!!!

it was a chilly day but christine was a trooper!  i Loved the ease of her dress as she walked around in it.  it was a Perfect dress for her and her face just lit up as our shoot went on!  i wish we had more daylight to shoot longer that day, but i Love what we did get!  christine, you were Gorgeous that day and even more so on your wedding day!  : )

i know we are three weeks into 2011, but i wanted to do a “happy 2011″ post and this is the first chance i’ve had to do it…. and yes, this will be addressed shortly…..  2010 was an AMAZING year for richie and i!  in the span of 12 months we managed to:

·  get laid off of a job (Richie)  : (

·  dig our heels in full blast and get Jagg going FULL TIME

·  get engaged and plan our wedding in six weeks

·  have my bridals done by the awesome liz leighton in DC!

·  go to vegas for a week to WPPI and have some kick ASS pics done of us by the hollman’s!

·  GET MARRIED!!  oh my gosh we had The BEST wedding like EVER!  we couldn’t have asked for Anything to be More perfect for us!  to think about that day brings the biggest smile to our faces!!!

• 

·  move to WAKE FOREST!!!!  i wish i had  a pic of our house to insert here but i can’t seem to locate one currently…..

·go to arizona and climb to the top of camel back mountain….

·  and then go to see the GRAND CANYON despite the Freeeeezing temperatures and pouring down rain….

·  gosh i don’t even want to know how many 14 hour trips to memphis we took…. like 5 or 6…..  heres a cute pic of what we do at rest stops…..

·and heres another one of my favorite pics of us from one of our memphis trips….

· we managed to get all of richie’s family and ALL the kids together for a trip to the BEACH!  i think this was richie’s mom’s second time seeing the ocean!  it was an AWESOME week!!!

·  we had the BEST christmas party!!!!  it was sooooo much fun!  we will definitely be doing this again next year!  heres a shot from our invite!

·  and MOST IMPORTANTLY we shot TWELVE UH-MAZING weddings this year and along with it making some Great friends!  we are so very lucky to have the best clients we could ever imagine and we look forward to ALL our couples we will photograph in 2011!

our goals for 2011:

R and J:  GET ORGANIZED!!  we feel like we live in a constantly disorganized state and its exhausting.  we have done a TON of clean up and organization already in the last few weeks but we still have a Long way to go!

J:  get new marketing materials!  new year, new info, need new packets!

R:  keep up with our business records more frequently.  our goal is monthly but it may be more realistic to do it quarterly.

J:  hit 238K miles on my van so i can say it went to the MOON and THEN buy a CAR.   i have 3,000 more miles to go and i can’t Wait!  NEED a small car!

R and J:  keep up with all our weddings and have weddings edited and CDs delivered within two weeks.  albums within a month.

J:  update our showcase album we show clients

R:  get a D7000 and a 70-200 so we can stop renting it. 

R:  he wants an iPad too.

J and R:  take time to have VACATIONS where we don’t work!  oh how we’d love to get back to chicago…. please…..

R:  learn a heck of a lot more about lighting.  a lot.

J:  i want PAINT in our house!!

R:  learn how to play the guitar.  he’s very dedicated to learning.  jordan, help.

J:  shoot our kids more.  shoot our life more.   and eat lunch.  i’m horrible at stopping to eat lunch.

i’m sure i will add to this list as the year goes on, but for now this is it.  in the time i’ve done this zackary has unrolled half a roll of toilet paper…..

a couple weeks ago richie got to do charlotte’s bridals at the cotton room!  i was SO sick in the bed so i couldn’t join them, which made me Very sad.  : (  but charlotte looked SO gorgeous in her shots and i am IN LOVE with her shoes!!!  i can’t wait for her and mark’s wedding next month in south carolina at the o’donnell house in sumter!  for now, here are a few sneak peeks that aren’t too “revealing”!

jessica and brandon were married in the snow at berry hill estate earlier this month.  we’ve been to berry hill several times but this time it looked different…. this time it was WHITE!   berry hill in the snow has a whole new feeling to it.   i just wanted to stand in the cold and look up at the sky with its huge flakes blowing all around me.  but this day was jessica and brandon’s day.  and even though i was fighting the flu, i couldn’t help but smile as i watched how Happy they were that they were finally becoming husband and wife.  jessica amazed me at her self-made bouquet and the cakes they made themselves.   the groomsmen gifts she made… WOW!  how totally special!! (pics below)   jessica and brandon, i am So happy richie and i got to share your day with you!  you have a perfect love together and such a wonderful and supportive family.  we hope you love your images!!

1.1.11…  wilmington riverside… seventy degree weather…. one gorgeous and in Love couple….  a perfect mix for a new years wedding!!   elizabeth and john were married at the hilton riverside surrounded by a strong, supportive family and a vast amount of close friends.  richie and i couldn’t wait to post images from this amazing day, and instead of focusing on details and bit and pieces, i decided to go with more “people” shots, because that was what This wedding was about….  elizabeth and john, we hope you love your sneak peak!!  <3

we were SO thrilled that elizabeth and john chose to do a “first look”!  it was soooo sweet to watch the two of them giggle and cry and laugh and hug and kiss…. we got some amazing images in this gorgeous little spot and then got to do All our pictures of family Before the wedding!  this made things go so much more smoothly for everyone!   we have several couples in 2011 who are excited to do “first looks” as well!!  i can’t tell you how amazing they are!!  and you won’t Ever find a couple who does them who wished they hadn’t!!  here goes elizabeth and john’s first look…….   <3
