just a couple business notes…. as you may have read on our facebook fan page, we are adjusting our packages and they will be released on october 23rd. a deposit prior to that will hold your rates what they are currently, but after the 23rd all contracts going forward will be based on our new packages. we are thrilled to say we have booked sixteen weddings thus far for 2011, and have several potentials on top of that. we are so humbled that so many people have seen our work or heard of someone who loved working with us, or randomly ran across us online and have contacted us saying they want us to shoot their wedding. richie and i took a bold step this spring to say “alright, love… lets do this”… and we both jumped full time into photography. its super scary… let me tell you! that being said, we are adjusting things based on what our clients have told us, and on things that would work better for us, and we will release those new packages in one week.
ALSO… just wanted to let everyone know that starting saturday night, we will be out of pocket until thursday night (the 16-21). our kids… ALL SIX of them… will be back under one roof here with us, along with richie’s family, and we are headed to the BEACH! we can’t express how thrilled we are to have this opportunity soooo…. its gunna be family time. and no internet. so if you need something, feel free to send me an email but i won’t be able to respond to them until thursday. we just want to love our kids. and each other… ofcourse!
and so not to do a post without a shot.. heres a shot of our new CD packaging! i just love it! : )

when kassie said she wanted a guest book that was “different” than the regular sign-your-name book i was SO excited to get to search for ideas for her! after emailing her all kinds of ideas, the one she liked the most i Knew i could make! when she gave me the go-ahead i was Giddy!!! i used a plain scrapbook i bought from archivers (a scrapbook store here in raleigh) and bought the ribbon to go on the front and a big ol stack of cardstock in the two different shades so there was some contrast. i used my 1 1/2″ circle punch to make the half circle pieces. total cost for the entire project… $51. here is her finished product and i was sooo pleased with it! …as was she… : )

i cut out 150 of these little slips. these are what each guest wrote a note on and signed. they go in little pocket/envelopes inside....
since i’m posting a “product” post, i’ll also add in here some pics from janna and tyler’s engagement book! i love how it turned out!!!

yesterday richie and i met sara and joel downtown raleigh to do an engagement session for them! and let me tell you…. these two are in LOVE. they are like for real serious kissers. like i’d start to say “ki…..” and BAM sara was on joel before i could even finish the word! i won’t lie… sometimes we shoot couples who aren’t really into the whole “we are in love” thing. they are uncomfortable being affectionate in front of others or even with Each Other. now…. anyone who’s been around richie and i can vouch that WE are completely guilty of (what we called it in high school) PDA… public display of affection. we don’t hold back. even our kids are like “oh nooo… here they go again….” : ) but, hey, they KNOW what love is… i’ll tell ya that! but sara and joel about gave us a run for our money! they can certainly dish out some lovin! and we Love it! we’d shoot it all day long if we could! so here’s sara and joel… oh, and their pup “moses” who waited so patiently as we did most the shoot without him. but we did get him in for a few! : )

yesterday afternoon, just a day after our drive back from tennessee, richie and i headed three and a half hours the Other direction to yorktown, virginia, to get to meet morgan and james and do an engagement session for them! yorktown is a historical town on the york river. james and morgan have always lived near there and have spent much time there on the white beaches on the waterfront. james proposed to morgan on the beach at sunset back in july! they will be married and have their reception there in yorktown and so they knew they wanted their engagement pics there as well! we were more than happy to make the drive and it was DEF worth it! james and morgan were so much fun to shoot and their love for each other is very apparent! we are SO happy with their session!! morgan and james, it was a total pleasure to meet you guys and we can’t wait to shoot your wedding next september!! we hope you love your shots!! here are just a few of our MANY favorites!
and as an added bonus, we got morgan to take this polaroid of US! sweet james held all the stuff. atleast its easier than asking him to hold a horse…. right? hehe

this weekend, admist a Gorgeous tennessee rolling countryside, kassie and trent were wed. they are the most sincerely, in love, beautiful couple, but my heart was so sad for her friday night as the rehearsal went on without her groom. trent works for a branch of the military in CALIFORNIA and he couldn’t leave until he got off work on friday. after not seeing each other for two months, trent made it in saturday morning just in time for them to get to the city office to get their marriage license, and then back to the church to get ready! whew!!! there was not a happier group anywhere around after all knew he was safely on the ground and on his way to the church. their day was perfect with gorgeous weather, a stunning bride and groom, fantastic wedding party, and one of the sweetest families we’ve worked with! after looking at their shots, it was SUPER hard for me to narrow it down to just a few of my favs… but i managed to keep it under 40 this time! kassie and trent, i can’t tell you what an amazing time we had photographing your wedding! you both looked soooo in love! i hope you have a great time out in california. i know you will have lots of people here who will miss you, but they are all so happy for the two of you! here is a sneak peak to get you by until you get to see the rest of your shots…..

kassie knew she wanted pics... and lots of em... so she was happy to give us a generous amount of time after the ceremony to do with what we pleased! so we found this awesome barn just down the road with the prettiest green wall. yes, i'll take that please!

way in the background you can see their reception tent and the church... i could have shot up on this hill forEva... but the party must go on!

this past week richie bought and basically rebuilt a polaroid 230 land camera. i gotta say… i am impressed with it. it took some AMAZING shots of us in arizona! and the reactions of people when he pulled it out was hilarious in and of itself. i know firsthand, its NOT easy to use! but a few packs of film later, i think he’s got it down! here are our ‘oid shots from our trip!!!!
