so, as promised, i wanted to post pics from a book i got in yesterday from an engagement session we had with charlotte and mark! they actually chose to get two books, a book of just their pics, and then another book they will use as their signing book! below are pics of their picture book. this is the book that comes with our “jagg session package”. we use that same package for any type session, be it engagement, bridal, newborn, family, boudoir, you name it! the “jagg session package” comes with the two hour session, atleast 30 edited images posted online (its usually a lot more though!), a 10×10 book, five 5×7 matboard prints, and a low-resolution CD of your top 30 favorite images for printing up to 8×10. this package runs $300 and is a fantastic deal since the book alone, bought ala carte, is $300! ok… enough yappin… heres the pics of their book!

i LOVE big spreads... this is why i don't like to pack a book with too many pics! i like to have room to do one and two page spreads! aren't they Pretty?!

woohooo! i love getting these books in! and these days they seem to come in pretty darn often! for the couples doing engagement sessions, you get a book with your session and you can decide if you want a regular picture book (i have shots to post tomorrow of one of those!) or you can get a signing book to use at your wedding! jen and adam chose to get their book as a signing book and i Love how it came out! here are some shots of it!

JAM…. jordan and mindy….. now mr. and mrs. shamp…. two of our best friends, and two of the SMILINGEST people you will ever meet! you can’t be around them more than a minute before seeing and feeling the love between these two! their wedding had all the details that perfectly describe them… colorful, happy, crazy, silly, and FUN FUN FUN! i’m warning you now, this is going to be a LONG post… but they are SO special to richie and i, and they will be in europe for almost two weeks and i know they want to see pics from their day! so i’ll get right to it and i’ll talk about their day between posting pics! so here you go, jordan and mindy…. we love you!!! ((deep breath)) ((vendor list first))
- venue: Bay 7, durham, tobacco district

- cake: stephanie wertman at good taste cake designs
- dj: mcsound productions

and now, let the wedding pictures begin!! : )

this salon is GORGEOUS and the ladies working here did a fantastic job on everyone's hair!! i couldn't help but get some shots of the salon itself!

best hanger EVA! i had seen these on etsy and fell in love! i was glad to get to see one in person! these are super cool!

mindy had the cutest gifts for her "leading ladies"! each bottle was picked especially for each lady! and some jelly beans for a little color! awesomeness!

love this shot richie got of jordan's phone with mindy's text message! yet another reason its so cool to have two photogs who can be in two different places!

9.11 ... a date that will always be remembered... we had to take an opportunity to recognize the day and what better to use than a newspaper.

ahhh... mindy's necklace... a client/friend of her made this for her to wear on this day. she also made all the bridesmaids necklaces as well! she did such a fantastic job!!

so girls just take longer to get ready. so as most weddings go, we were running a bit behind schedule. so i ended up driving mindy's car for her (first time driving a hybrid... whew!) and so what else does a wedidng photographer do while driving the bride to her wedding?? why take shots with her wide angle lens while at stop lights!! lol!!!

...and make kissy faces at the bride!... well i can do this because i love mindy so daggone much!! xxoxx
ahhhhh FINALLY…. i get a bride and groom that wants to do a first look!! YAY!!! but, unfortunately, we were still a bit behind schedule, so there wasn’t a ton of time for pics, but they did get to snuggle up for a few mins! i can’t say enough how sweet this time is! i will be doing a post about first looks SOON! i can promise you one thing, though, jordan didn’t feel ANY LESS love or emotion for mindy when she was coming down the aisle after already seeing her a few minutes before! here are just a few (of a million) shots of them during their first look!

jordan and mindy found these cool doors at a antique shop and they did a Perfect job using them at their wedding!
when jordan proposed to mindy in july 2009, he gave her a “ring pop” while on the lawn of the national mall in DC. (yes, her real rock followed shortly!) so at their wedding mindy KNEW she wanted to surprise jordan with a ring pop during their ceremony!! while it didn’t work out for her to do it at the official “ring time”, she got to do it just after they were pronounced mr and mrs jordan shamp! he LOVED it and they wore those ring pops for like three hours after that!! so “them”!!! love that!!

i got a FEW minutes with them! it seems its never enough time with just the couple at weddings. but we will def be going back out for more pics when they get back from their honeymoon!!

mindy and jordan found all their reception details at antique shops! i LOVE these bottles!! so pretty with the bright flowers in them!!
photobooth….. goodness we have so many cute shots from it…. but i know i have totally exceeded all blog post rules by doing this extended post but i wanted to include these few…..

girls, you know good looking shoes are NOT comfy! so the ladies were more than ready to throw these shoes! ...and they did! : )

this evening richie and i headed to clinton, nc to meet janna and tyler and shoot their engagement session. thru emails janna had told me tyler was a farmer and they really wanted shots done at his farm. we Love to shoot somewhere that means something to the couple, so we didn’t mind the drive to the country. well… let me tell you…. this wasn’t any kind of farm i had in my mind! tyler and his family farm around 1600 acres of land. they farm all Kinds of things, from tobacco, to soybeans, to watermelon, to barley, to peanuts, even cows and hogs! tyler took us on a tour of their gorgeous property and i even got to see a for real hog barn with for real hogs in it!! they got pretty excited pretty fast so i didn’t hang out with them too long…. i seriously could have just hung out there all day seeing everything they had out there!
tyler and janna, who is now an event planner at the duplin winery, met at NC state (i don’t hold that against them at ALL…. lol) when she tackled him in a flag football game! guess that tackle was impressive cause now they are engaged to be married in november in a candlelight ceremony at her hometown church.
janna and tyler, richie and i had a great time with you guys this evening! we can’t wait to shoot your wedding in a few months! and janna, you have got to call me when you get a baby pig! oh, and i really want to see your winery as well!! i think a bridal shoot at the winery sounds mighty sweet!
i promised you one or two sneak peaks tonight, but unfortunately i got carried away and went with about twenty…. so here are some of my favs… i can’t wait for you to see them all later this week!!

just posting cause i thought it was purtty... rust on a tractor blade never looked so yummy huh? : )

six months ago i got an email from mindysea… she and her fiance jordan run “JAM photography” in chapel hill and were engaged to be married in september!! the couple she knew she wanted to do her wedding pictures had recently found out they were expecting their first baby right near the time they would be getting married. so the search began…. and through a search of NC photogs who went to WPPI in vegas this past spring, she ran across our names. she emailed me saying how much she loved our work and asked if we’d be interested in meeting her and jordan to see if we “clicked”! ((no pun intended)) well…. we did. and ever since then mindy and jordan have become some of our best friends! i can’t imagine NOT having them in our lives right now! so…. this weekend, on september 11th, jordan and mindy will be married. while her original photographers, geoff and cheyenne schultz, can’t be there, richie and i will have BIG shoes to fill! the schultz’s are SO amazing and i’ve become Quite addicted to their blog since mindy told me about them! but richie and i are SO excited to shoot the “JAM” wedding and we are even more honored to be there as their friends…… mindy and jordan, we love you guys sooooooo much! and we are flippin with excitement over shooting your day saturday!!!!
a couple months ago, richie and i shot mindy’s bridal session at the cotton room and since i can’t post any pics from it just yet, i did want to post these “vague” ones…. hehe… mindy, i am in LUV with your dress! i can’t wait to see you in it again in a couple days!!! …and those SHOES……… (((drool)))

sunday, september 5th, at berry hill estate in south boston, virginia, jess and kyle were wed. richie and i have been SO excited about this wedding ever since we shot them at their engagement session several months ago! these two are so in love, and they make you smile just by being around them! jess did such an amazing job getting everything together for their wedding… and the day was…. perfect. gorgeous weather, surrounded by her wonderful family and amazing friends, and jess in her STUNNING wedding gown, beaming ear to ear all day, and kyle just happy to look over at his bride… they became mr and mrs altman. jess and kyle, i am SO happy for you guys! i hope your day was all you ever dreamed it would be. here is a LENGTHY preview of some of our favorite shots… sorry in advance for the long post!
the cake. as the saying goes, “theres a story there”. however it happened (don’t really know all the details and i’d never want to say something i didn’t know for sure), after waiting hours for it to arrive, the cake had an “accident” of some sort. with no back-up cake available, someone at the cake place went to some extreme measures to get jess and kyle ANY cake. no one wanted to tell jess all this was going on, but when she did have to be told, she just took it totally in stride, and never had any worry or sadness on her face… she was just so happy with her day, Nothing was going to bring her down! when her replacement cake came i have to admit, it didn’t look too bad!! so jess, not sure what you were planning on having cake-wise, but i loved the one you got! the initials on it were so cool! so heres the “famous cake”…. : )
and now….. lets PARTAY!!!!!!!!! i could have posted SO many dance shots! but i atleast TRIED to keep the number down! no luck tho!
